Engineering

Joshua Fernquist

Originally from Missouri, Joshua Fernquist has spent the past six years in Utah. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from BYU–Idaho and both his master’s and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah. His graduate research focused on magnetic-assisted freeze-casting of porous ceramics.
Fernquist has also worked in industry between degrees, serving as a Tech Support Engineer at Packsize International—where he troubleshot and repaired industrial box-making machines—and as an engineer at BAE Systems. At BAE, he worked in the Futures Division, identifying emerging technologies that could be applied to the Sentinel Missile.
